happy teachers day

teachers day celebrations were quite cool right? really fun. memorable moments like the whole class being late together and running in the rain, mr seet having pink balloon breasts, xiao yun turning into a monster (and a high one), and a male teacher's skirt dropping right in front of us.

however i'm not here to talk about events that went on in the school. its about a tour that 3 of our classmates (me, terence and desmond) took after all the hype of teachers day at around 5.30pm. it was the (FREE!) tour of singapore's very own BUDGET TERMINAL!

yes my fellow classmates. just how many of you have been to the budget terminal before? i doubt many of you have. back to the story of the tour, me terence and desmond and 3 other hockey guys boarded the (FREE!) shuttle service and we were on our way to the prestigious terminal...

upon arrival at the budget terminal, we were completely mesmerized by the size of it. as what terence said, it was comparable to the size of our school hall. standing at one end of the terminal, we could actually see the opposite end! how cool is that!! we somehow got lost and looked anxiously for our bearings at a nearby directory...

p.s. the rectangle terence was pointing at was the hall, and the black dots were the pillars. go figue =D

we fortunately managed to find our way thanks to the wonderful directory. desmond then said profoundly, "tourists will get their first impressions of countries by looking at the state of the toilets. lets go check out the toilets". bowing to his wisdom and knowledge, we followed desmond to go see what impressions the toilets there would leave us.

the toilets had hangers! thats a plus point to singapore's image! however, to the utter disappointment and dismay of desmond, the toilet taps were NOT AUTOMATED. you actually had to PRESS the tap for water to come out! what utter rubbish! how can singapore allow this to happen in our very own budget terminal! what kind of image of singapore are we portraying to the countless of tourists flocking the budget terminal! absurd! ridiculous!

after that major setback and after consoling desmond, we generally agreed that the toilets were above average, but there were still a lot to be done to improve the conditions of the oh-so-important-toilets.

we then proceeded to further explore the terminal, and agreed that it would make a great place for playing floorball. how many terminals in the world can boast that?!

with that we concluded our tour, and with a heavy heart, we left the budget terminal by boarding the (FREE!) shuttle bus back to terminal 2. nevertheless, this tour has provided us with indispensable and priceless information that we would need in the future if we were to build an airport terminal, and the tour will be engraved into our minds for the rest of our lives.

just in case you all are still wondering what the heck is wrong with us, we had nothing better to do.

oh, and yes, we DID ask strangers to take some of the pics for us. shameless? yup. =D

till the next time.

cheers,
najid.

THANKS for the love you all showed yesterday my darling classmates! It was really nice of you all. :) I really appreciate it. I really appreciate that you showed true VJ spirit - the spirit the school proudly boasted about at the beginning of the year, despite it being largely lacking for the better part of the year. Thank you for being the same kind of people you were when we first met in veethirtyseven. Thanks for not letting the beige monster mutate you into little beige monster-lings. THANK YOU.

On a less "out-to-hantam-the-school" tone, we are going for breakfast at our highly esteemed Changi International Airport tomorrow morning yes?

Venue: Mc-Dee's (Supersize The World) Fast-food outlet, T2
Time: 0615 hours

So, tell the others, spread the message and see you tomorrow!

Spread the LOVE
Afzal

HI PEOPLE!!! I'm strangely happy now. Hmm.

Anyway, Strings is doing a lunch time performance this Tuesday at Artery at 2pm. We'll be having a break. So instead of going to 7-11 for unhealthy, pocket-draining snacks, why don't you just come and watch us. It'll be really nice if you'd all be there to support us and the Arts scene in VJ. And besides, it's free!

In other words, come and watch me, the star player (I'm the only one who gets to stand and play), live in action (and boost my ego). :)

Lovelove you all Manymany - except Sidney. :))

Hey All. I'm back! And the school keyboard sucks. The alignment is all wrong...

Anyway, quote of the day: "Morons go for Econs". :)

Its been many weeks we've been back in school. 8 weeks to be a little more exact. Lot's of things have happened, and lots of things have not happened. But here we are. I'm not sure about all of you, but I'm getting tired of school; of VJC. Well, I have nothing really to compare VJ to, but it isn't what I expected it to be. It just isn't what it seemed it would be. I tell you, if there's one thing VJ does well, other than spewing top students, is painting a idealisitic picture over the harsh true reality. It is so good at portraying itself as something, when actually (in my opinion) it isn't anything like it. And people get influenced by the school. Its like one big factory manufacturing little tots called "Victorians".

You know, maybe it's the stress talking; but I think I feel this way about our school. Of course, you could disagree. For everyone his own, I guess.

Love love.
Afzal.

P.S. Love and be merry! :)
