Ex-Victorians as of NOW
So today's the official last day. It doesn't feel like it though, does it? You're all probably mugging the universe away now but I'm here wasting my precious time on the web. And after this I'm proabably I'm going to read The Little Prince. So much for studying.
I have uploaded a number of photos of today onto my flickr account - which you can visit by clicking
HERE. I'm not posting it onto the blog itself because Blogger is insanely troublesome and my tired (and very cramped) brain cannot bother to trouble itself with the little niggly bits. Besides, I think you can download the pictures full-size on flickr. You don't even have to sign up.
Seeing that I probably should be studying more than any or all of you combined to get grades anywhere near people like Yew Chin and Simon, I shall procrastinate slightly quicker. I'll open my ugly chinese bag of secret tips Mr Chan so kindly gave us. HAH.

VJCSB just ended its annual concert
MAJESTIA XXII. Thanks to all 06s53-ians who came down specially to support us even though you all were tired, it really meant the world. :)) and to the rest, thanks for always being there in mind and spirit.
i guess it goes the same way for all of us. whether its a match, a concert, some olympiad or just an ordinary day in school, we're always supporting each other some way or another. no matter what the results, everyone's a winner.
And this is the thing which makes 06s53 ROCK.
i'm putting back the tagboard, no form of spamming can hurt our class spirit anyway. :))

Today is a memorable day for many of us. For some, it is a day of sweet memories while for others it is of less sweet ones.
Band had their concert today. So the time has finally come for Sidney, Christina and Jia Hui. I can only imagine what they are feeling. That is until next Friday when I finally step down after what has seemed like an eternity.
Basketball girls crushed the pulp out of RJ. Which I really appreciate.
And today, the Soccer Girls played SA and emerged 2nd. I won't say "lost" 'cos that would imply that they are losers which they are definitely not! In fact, after watching them for the first time, I admire them for being such great sportswomen, so confident, yet still so graceful and humble (which doesn't seem to be a common characteristic in sports teams in my opinion). So maybe today wasn't a good day for them; and maybe it being not such a good day had larger implications then it would have had on any other day. But so what? They kept on fighting till the very last minute. They're still THE soccer girls whom I have much respect and admiration for. And our darling Jaslyn Leong is still THE Queen of 06S53, yesterday, today, and forever.
Much love,
Afzal.

Now is the time we can show our support to our very own classmates in whatever competition or events they have. Let's go down to support our class' sports people when they have their matches. Also, let us not forget to join in the concerts of our class performers from the various performing art groups. The presence of spectators and supporters in the concerts and matches makes a lot of difference for the performers and sports people. Nil sine labore + support (Nothing without labour and support).

I've a made a new discovery today! Tiredness is just a state of mind. If your mind tells your body that it's tired, your body will act as if it's tired and switch. Sometimes i find this especially true. When i tell myself i'm awake, i'll probably stay awake. Probably. Except the times when i'm really very tired. So, we shouldn't keep putting ourselves down by telling our body to switch off. Be turned on. I mean in a non-sexual manner. Switch on your mind and body and enjoy the wonders of life. There might be great things and people around you that you may always be oblivious to because you've been with them for too long. Appreciate life, people.
I'm talking to myself again. That's weird! People must have been thinking that i'm a crazy guy who talks to himself all the time. Weirdo! Anyway, it's my way of self motivation.
